Stewart Jones is the founder of 7across and has wide ranging commercial skills covering senior management, business development, product, music and IP licensing (both inward and outward), raising investment and general mentoring. He has spent the last 12 years firmly entrenched in the technology sector.
He has benefited from a varied career and is strongly against compartmentalisation. He spent 12 years as a commercial surveyor in Paris, London and Hong Kong before joining Reed Elsevier as part of the senior management team responsible for setting up the award-winning web site, Estates Gazette Interactive. Having helped to achieve a staggering market capitalisation for EGi he moved on to work with Ananova, the world's first virtual newscaster, and then Sleepydog, an ideas factory, where he played a key part in conceiving the idea for highly successful series of Buzz games for the PlayStation2.
Having founded 7across Stewart now advises a number of young and growing businesses mainly in the technology sector and is CEO of View Holographics Ltd and a Non-executive Director of Wireless LAN Source. He is member of the Xenos network of business angels.
Richard has always focused on innovation and new developments in technical development and their commercial application to marketing and new business generation. He has extensive experience of technology transfer including the University sector and has recently specialised in incubation techniques.
His formal training is in physics. He gained his extensive technical and general management experience with the Pilkington Group where he had responsibility for new business generation including starting new business ventures.
Richard's main areas of expertise are technology transfer, marketing, business planning and strategic management particularly when applied to high tech, high growth start-ups. He understands small businesses, the challenges they face and the people who run them.
Before joining 7across Richard established his own consultancy working with technical based businesses in North Wales for more than a decade.
Richard has been involved with a number of WAG (Welsh Assembly Government) programmes focused on the SME sector and is a mentor on the highly regarded WAG Mentoring Scheme. He has worked closely with the Welsh Opto-electronic Forum and was retained to develop the business plan that underpins OpTIC Technium, the Optronics Technology and Incubation Centre.
Richard is a Director of a number of local businesses.
Eduard comes from an engineering and inventing background and has been tackling business growth and development issues for over twenty years. His formal training has focused on the commercial aspects of business as these are the key to growth, but is passionate about the non-commercial factors that contribute to overall success.
In recent years his main role has been as a corporate financier, where he identifies, sources and secures the most appropriate funds, resources and structures for business needs. He spends a significant amount of his time with business angels, institutional investors, asset financiers and banks around the UK and understands what is required to secure funding.
Eduard has extensive experience and contacts in companies ranging from start-ups, through to mature family businesses, and from sole traders to multinational plcs.
He works at Board and shareholder level in companies in a multitude of sectors including retail, e-commerce, bio-medical, energy, waste, leisure and manufacturing and is adept at maximising commercial opportunities including commercial agreements, company mergers, acquisitions and disposals.
Eduard is a business realist, but has a passion for problem solving and helping people and businesses committed to facing and overcoming challenges.
Simon Cotton trained as a graphic designer and worked in the creative sector in New York, London and Manchester prior to establishing his own design agency, View Creative, in 1998.
View Creative is recognised as one of the leading creative agencies in Wales and in 2006 the company was recognised as one of the fastest growing companies in Wales. The company has won numerous awards for its creativity and business development and employs 25 staff.
Simon is the main driving force for the strategic and creative development of his business and has a wealth of experience gained from working with major clients such as IMG, National Trust, S4C, M&S, Royal Parks, Royal Albert Hall and Shell. This experience has proved invaluable to the 7across client base. In 2008 the company was shortlisted for the UK BBC design tender contract.
His main areas of expertise are brand identity and development, graphic design, web design, online and offline marketing and integrated campaigns.
Claire Owen boasts over 20 years experience in generalist and strategic human resource management covering, team leadership, coaching and performance management, succession and career development, Organisational Development and Design, Employee Engagement and Internal Communications.
She has broad commercial experience gained through working within major blue chips including Starbucks and B&Q plc and most recently as HR Director at Gap. She has achieved FCID status.
Her key skills include building strong internal/external client relationships, communications, team development and leadership.
She is astute, intuitive and straightforward with a genuine interest in and respect for people. She takes on a 'solutions not the problems' approach to HR issues and is recognised as someone that 'makes it happen'.
